Who knew eating “bugs” could be so delicious? Candy eyeballs make these creepy-crawlies super fun.
Serves: 2Prep: 15 minutesTotal: 15 minutesDifficulty: Easy
- 6 wooden skewers
- 24 green grapes
- 6 strawberries
- 12 candy eyeballs
- 2 teaspoons white frosting
- 2 waffles
- Adults: Thread 4 grapes onto each skewer. Older kids may be able to help with this, but the sharp point on skewers could be dangerous to younger ones. Cut the green stems off the strawberries, and thread one onto the end of each skewer to make a head, taking care not to poke the skewer all the way through the strawberry.
- Kids: Dip the back of each candy eyeball in frosting and “glue” two to each strawberry “head” to make caterpillar eyes.
- Kids: Toast waffles to mimic the ground that the caterpillars crawl across on your plate. Serve, refrigerating any leftovers.
