Sweet & Spicy Cherry Margaritas
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. Simple Truth Organic Blue Agave Light Golden Syrup, divided
- 1 tbsp. Tajin® seasoning
- 1 cup pitted cherries, fresh or frozen, thawed if frozen, plus more for garnish
- Simple Truth Organic® Frozen Dark Sweet Cherries, optional
- 1⁄4 cup Simple Truth® Organic 100% Tart Cherry Juice
- 1 tbsp. jalapeño, sliced
- 2 tbsp. Kroger® Lime Juice
- 1⁄4 cup tequila
- 2 tbsp. orange liqueur
Recipe Steps
Step 1: Brush the rims of two glasses with about 1 tablespoon agave syrup. Coat in Tajin seasoning and set aside.
Step 2: Place cherries, tart cherry juice, jalapeño, remaining 1 tablespoon agave syrup and lime juice in a 28-ounce cocktail shaker and muddle until juices are extracted. Add tequila, orange liqueur and ice cubes. Shake until chilled.
Step 3: Fill the prepared glasses with ice cubes and strain mixture into glasses. Garnish with cherries and serve. Refrigerate leftovers.
Tip: Wear an apron or use an old dish towel to help prevent cherry juice stains. Make as a mocktail by omitting the tequila and orange liqueur.
